Little Lights is a true hidden gem in the city. My heart is so full when I think of how my children began their educational journey thanks to this amazing school. The staff is incredibly nurturing and put their whole heart and soul into teaching and loving their students. You will be hard pressed to find another 2 year old half day “drop off” program in the city better than this one. At age 2, my daughter had overwhelming separation anxiety and the teachers at Little Lights showed never ending patience and love each and every day for months to help her feel secure and loved in the school environment. She has now begun this new school year with confidence and a love of school thanks to her teachers at Little Lights. Everything from the communication with parents, weekly newsletters, school wide activities, arranged play dates, etc. were absolutely top notch. I will forever continue to sing the praises of this phenomenal program to all that are looking for an amazing start to their child’s educational journey. We adore Little Lights!

“Our daughter has attended Little Lights for the past 2 years, and we’ve absolutely loved it! The Little Lights program has been the perfect way to introduce the school environment to our daughter. When she started in the Rainbow Room, Ms. Erin and Ms. Iris were very patient with her, and allowed her to get comfortable with the classroom at her own pace. While she was hesitant at first, she now truly loves going to school, always talks about her friends and teachers and even asks if she can go more frequently. Over the past 2 years, I’ve seen her social skills, passion for art, and independent play flourish through the Little Lights classroom. We’ve also loved all the various events and activities that Little Lights organizes throughout the year – Valentine’s Day parties, Cookies with Santa, the Christmas “concert.”

The Little Lights program has been amazing for our son! He’s excited to go to school every morning and can’t wait to tell us about his day when it ends. We love his teachers, who are kind and nurturing, provide fun, engaging activities, and do a great job of keeping us informed about what’s happening at school on a daily basis. We have seen so much growth in our son since he started at Little Lights. He has gained so much confidence and has become so much better at interacting with his peers (and adults), which was our major goal for him at the beginning of the year. Most importantly, he is happy! I told him I was writing a few sentences about Little Lights and asked him what his favorite part is. He looked at me with a huge smile and said, “All of it!”

Our family chose the Little Lights program as we think a preschool environment, especially one grounded in the Christian community, is an important part of early development. We sent our son to the 2 Year Old Class for the first time this year and it has been a fantastic success. He has gone from being hesitant, shy, uncertain and unwilling to go in his first 2 weeks to now looking forward to and being excited to go to Little Lights class each week. That is a true tribute to the way the 2 year old teachers- Ms. Isabel and Ms. Erin have sought to connect with him from day one and worked hard to cultivate his learning and curiosity. Each week, we get a terrific email report with pictures and wonderful detail on the weeks’ activities and the progress of the kids. The early life lessons they learn involve key lifelong values of telling the truth, sharing, being gracious, polite and thankful, and tying them back to religious messages. We have seen great growth in our 2.5 year old. We are excited for another semester and year with the terrific and enthusiastic Little Lights team.
